THREE financial institutions in Nigeria, First Bank Plc, Stanbic IBTC and Zenith Capital are among the 37 institutions on the continent receiving various awards at the African Banking awards holding in London this week.
Organized by Emeafinance, the three banks have emerged best bank, best investment bank and best asset manager respectively in Nigeria, the organizers said.
According to Emeafinance, “Amidst the turmoil of the credit crunch and global recession, many African banks are still delivering impressive results, boasting rising profits and increasing their Tier 1 capital through private and even public capital raising efforts.”
Emeafinance said it is proud to recognise the progress and success of Africa’s leading banks with its second annual African Banking Achievement Awards 2009.
“Our awards will be presented to the African Banking award winners at a charity dinner held at the Hilton Tower Bridge Hotel in London on Wednesday, it said.
The dinner is a must-attend event for professionals engaged and involved in Africa’s banking sector. The charity dinner not only provides an opportunity to recognise success across the sector but also provides a unique opportunity to network with peers from across the continent.
