Peak Talent Show Doles Out over N30m to Winners
THE Peak Talent show organized by FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria PLC, makers of Peak and Three Crowns Milk came to an end with a grand finale at the Agip Hall of Muson Centre, Lagos.
The colorful event was filled with anxiety and a spectacular showmanship from the 5 finalists namely: Joshua Ekeledo – male dancer; Fine Boy - male comedian; Yemi Alade – female singer; Micheal Ogah – male singer; and Yahil – two female singers.
The talents performed two acts each before a cheering audience and were allotted marks by three celebrity judges; actress Stella Damasus, producer/presenter Dayo ‘D1’ Adeneye, and comedian Tee-A. For a winner to emerge, the auditors collated the marks awarded by the judges and the votes secured by each contestant.
Singer, Yemi Alade, a.k.a ‘Ginger’, a 300 level student of the University of Lagos, emerged the winner of the maiden edition of the Peak Talent Show. She went away with N4 million talent development contract and N1 million cash.
In a statement issued by the Corporate Affairs Manager, Mrs. Ore Famurewa, she said, “As you know, the Peak Talent Show is a follow-up to the thematic Peak - It’s in You campaign launched in 2008 by the Peak brand to discover and develop individuals with special diverse talents of entertainment value; we are really glad that the show encouraged a lot of youths and has really proven that if you believe it, you can achieve it.”
The Peak Talent show commenced in September 2009 with auditions in 6 major cities in Nigeria: Jos, Abuja, Calabar, Enugu, Ibadan and Lagos.
The show witnessed diverse talents in singing, music, dancing (including Salsa and ballet), comedy, ball juggling, acrobatics and poetry.
