BUSINESSWORLD newspaper, the prime source of business and economic intelligence in Nigeria, is set to commence working relations with The Washington Post, D.C.’s oldest and largest newspaper. Readers of BusinessWorld will, starting from next week, find fresh thrill reading the paper, as it debuts pages hosting premium reports, analyses and photographs from The Washington Post stable. For a start, two pages of BusinessWorld will be devoted to these reports, analyses and photographs which will centre on finance and banking, economics, politics and social issues.
Ranked by independent media assessors as an irresistible business weekly publication with proven strength in incisive, investigative reportage of Africa’s second largest economy, BusinessWorld, by this partnership, will be complementing its traditional strength with inputs from The Washington Post, hitherto celebrated as America’s most distinguished newspaper in political reporting. It is especially reputed for excellent reporting of workings in the White House, Congress, and other aspects of the U.S. government and economy.
The partnership is, moreover, set to bridge the North-South divide in terms of global news coverage, as well as establish a platform for seasoned journalists from across the divide to feed our readership more wholesome news.
Ray Echebiri, Editor-in-Chief of BusinessWorld says this relationship is prompted by “our avowed determination to deliver economic intelligence to our readers”. He notes that keeping Nigerians abreast of the goings-on in the world’s largest economy through the reports and analyses from The Washington Post is about the best way to make them think out of the box with a view to making Nigeria great.
“I cannot wait to see these reports and analyses in BusinessWorld”, he said.
