FOR Okey Madueke from Nnewi, Anambra State and Nnamdi Nweke, a Lagos resident who both emerged millionaires last week in the ongoing Star Big Life Promotion life will never remain the same. The two who as indigent students have been finding it difficult to fund their education, their days of agony are over. Both of them who spoke after the presentation of their prizes in Lagos last week said that they would utilised the N1m each of them won to fund their education. “Although, I am a student of Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra State where I am currently studying Public Administration, funding my education has been very difficult because I am sponsoring myself. I have been able to go this far because I am also an Okada rider (Commercial motor cyclist), it is from the proceeds of this Okada business that I pay my school fees and sustain myself. And I tell you it has not been easy. So, this One Million Naira I won in the Star Fortune promotion is like manna from heaven. It would ease my pain and make life easier for me. I will quit Okada business, and invest the money in a more profitable business that would be able to fund my education and sustain me. I thank Nigerian Breweries for changing my life,”says Maduike in his testimony. Just like Madueke, Nweke’s educational’s dream had been truncated after the completion of his secondary school in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. But at the presentation of his cheque to him by Mr Ken Calebs Olumese, the guvnor of the nation’s leading night club, Niteshift Coliseum on behalf of Nigerian Breweries, Nweke was dumbfounded.
