BARELY a year after commencement of production, the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) has awarded Nispo Porcelain Company Limited with the NIS quality award for the production of its flagship Vitrified Porcelain Tiles.
With this honour, the product has now received authorization by the quality assessment apex body in Nigeria to display MANCAP logo having met minimum requirements for the relevant industrial standards.
While issuing the award to officials of the company at the state office in Ogun State, Mrs Tosan Akin-Akosile, Head disclosed noted that the award is a result of series of plant inspection tours and assessment tests conducted on Vitrified Porcelain Tiles by SON spanning over a period of one year.
Akin-Akosile disclosed that the SON is satisfied with the quality standard maintained by the company in the production of the building material, thus recommending it fit for use by Nigerians. While urging Nigerians to shun fake and substandard products by always identifying with NIS certified goods, the SON boss also warned manufacturers and importers who fail to bring their products forward for assessment that the dragnet of the enforcement unit of the organizations
Responding, Mr Edwin Oghenerobor on behalf of the managing director expressed gratitude to SON for the certification while promising to continue to maintain the standard set by the company. According to him, the company which commenced manufacturing operations last year at its state-of-the-art facility located in Igbesa, Agbara Industrial Area in Ogun State has within a short span emerged as the only manufacturer of vitrified tiles in West Africa.
