Macleans, NDA Partner on Oral Hygiene Awareness

AS part of efforts to provide Nigerians with fresh breath and raise public awareness on oral hygiene, the Nigeria Dental Association has partnered with GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc (GSK), makers of Macleans toothpaste to mark the World Oral Health Day. The event was marked with a strategic walk from Maryland to National Stadium.
Addressing the media on the initiative, Brand Manager Macleans, Toyin Yusuf noted that MACLEANS is delighted and committed to promoting oral hygiene in Nigeria. She restated the multinational’s commitment to offering consumers high quality products consistently enhanced with science and latest technology.
She further stated that Macleans as a brand of GSK focuses on improving the quality of life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer. “As a leading Healthcare Company, this informed our partnership with the Lagos chapter of the Nigerian Dental Association to raise public awareness on the need for proper oral hygiene” she said.
Mrs Yusuf noted that the brand has supported many dental health programmes by providing logistics, products and educational materials on oral health care. According to her, some of the programmes included Lagos State Ministry of Health’s School Oral Screening for primary schools, Lagos State Children Dental Health programme and sponsorship of Community Dental Health Education (CODEH) in conjunction with Dental Schools across Nigeria
In her own comments, Lagos State President of Nigerian Dental Association, Dr Lateefat Agbaje, noted that we are here today to propagate oral health awareness. Considering the oral care assessment in Nigeria, we are working seriously on taking the campaign for adequate oral care to every Nigerian in their respective communities.
Dr Lara, added that Macleans and NDA has formed a formidable force in quest to adequately inform and educate Nigerians on the need to take good care of their oral cavity. She commended Macleans and remarked that the product is user friendly.
Mrs. Chinyere Chima, Medical Marketing Manager GSK said that all Macleans variants - Complete Care, Herbal and Freshmint are all endorsed by the Nigeria Dental Association and have passed the recommended quality certification by Standard Organization of Nigeria ( SON ). She added that, “the brand is solely committed to promoting, protecting and educating Nigerians on the need to take good care of their oral cavity.”
She revealed that Macleans has been collaborating with the Nigerian Dental Association to advance oral hygiene in Lagos State and the society at large.
