MTN Nigeria has launched its revolutionary internet service, the WiMAX and MTN HyNet, in Bauchi and Sokoto, as part of its expansion bid to cover the major cities in the country with fast and reliable internet service.
The launch of the service in both cities came at the heels of the successful launch of the service in Lagos, Ilorin, Kaduna, Warri, Makurdi and Osogbo.
As MTN’s HyNet internet solution is now experienced in eight cities, residents in Bauchi and Sokoto now join others in those cities where the services were earlier launched, to reap the benefits of a reliable, fast and yet low-cost internet solution.
Commenting on the launch, Babatunde Osho, enterprise solutions executive, MTN Nigeria, said HyNet is primed to bring efficiency and convenience to offices and homes, by providing internet service that offers unlimited downloads and multi-user capability at extraordinary speeds and pocket-friendly rates.
He said the service is suitable for consumers and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) that require reliable, stable and easy to set up internet connectivity for their homes and offices.
“MTN HyNet offers multi-user functionality without the need for wires,” he said. “With the inbuilt Wi-Fi capability, staff of an organisation can access the internet wirelessly within a 50-metre radius.
“Home and office subscribers can now enjoy and share the Internet without limitation to the amount of data they can download. And very importantly, subscribers can choose from a variety of plans and their own download speeds,” he stated.
He added that the telecom company is delighted to inform the people of Bauchi and Sokoto that MTN HyNet is now live in their areas and it is in fulfilment of its pledge to extend the benefits of the service to more cities and towns in Nigeria.
According to Osho, MTN HyNet, which used to be known as MTN HyConnect Wireless internet, is one of the solutions from the stable of MTN Business, MTN’s comprehensive range of solutions, focused on assisting businesses to realise their full potential by availing them of an array of productivity-enhancing solutions.
