SAP User Group Executive Network (Sugen) has expanded with two new members named the African SAP User Group AFSUG and the Indian user group INDUS. This gives the network a stronger position as strategic discussion partner of SAP.
Sugen is a global network of 15 independent SAP user groups working as a discussion partner of SAP for strategic matters that are important for SAP customers. The total number of Sugen members is now 15 with the addition of the SAP user groups AFSUG and INDUS.
Tonnie van der Horst, Sugen chair, noted that its position as discussion partner of SAP on behalf of the users becomes stronger with the increase of the number of members and the broad global coverage. “We are very delighted with these two new members that meet the quality criteria we require from user groups that are part of our network”, he said.
Simon Carpenter Director, Strategic Initiatives SAP Africa said “AFSUG’s collaboration within Sugen will be increasingly important to African organizations. With South Africa having been invited to join the BRICs countries and Africa as a whole being the epicentre of high economic growth it is important that our African customers have a voice in the global community and are able to network with and learn from their peers in the developed economies”.
Sugen has important subjects lined up on the agenda already and a number of strategic projects such as discussing the SAP optimal current and future license model, the in-memory solution HANA, knowledge transfer from SAP to customers, user groups and SAP subsidiaries.
