THE Board of CAP Plc has announced the appointment of Mrs Omolara Elemide as managing director with effect from May 4, 2009.
Also appointed by the Board effective from same date are three directors – Mr Bashir Korede Abdulah (Executive), Dr Umaru Alka (non-executive) and Mr Opeyemi Agbaje (non-executive); all of who are new on the Board. 
Mrs Elemide became a member of the board of CAP Plc in March 2005 in her capacity as finance director. She had worked in various capacities as internal check manager, Financial Accountant and Management Accountant within the UACN Group. 
Between 1991 and 1996, Mrs Elemide served in the then Unilever International audit as senior group audit manager after which she became the UACN Audit manager. Prior to her secondment to CAP Plc, she was the Finance director of UACN Property Development Company Plc.
Mrs Elemide brings to her present responsibility her various local and international trainings in the course of her career with UACN. This includes Strategy and Finance at the Ashridge Institute of Management, United Kingdom.
Mr Bashir Abdulah, who is appointed Finance director, is a 1984 graduate of economics from the University of Lagos. In 1990, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (Ican).  He has varied experience in different sectors namely banking and finance, Logistics, Oil and Gas as well as in the public sector.
Abdulah joined the UACN Plc Group in 1999 as an Auditor and has worked in various capacities within the Group. Prior to his appointment as Finance Director, CAP Plc, he was Divisional Commercial Manager, MDS Logistics, a division of UAC of Nigeria Plc.
He has attended various professional, management and leadership development programmes and also participated at the World Congress of Accountants in Istanbul, Turkey in 2006. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (Ican) and Associate member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria
Dr Alka, an expert in environmental pollution and conservation, had his secondary education at the prestigious King’s College, Lagos. He then attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from where he earned a B. Sc (Hons.) in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s of Engineering degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. He holds a Ph. D in environmental control engineering from New Castle Upon-Tyne, United Kingdom.
Dr Alka worked with the Bauchi State Water Board from 1976 to 1985 and the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (formerly Abubakar Tafawa Balewa College of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria) from 1985 to 1987.
From 1987 to date he has run his own environmental and water resources engineering outfit, Alka-Chem Limited.
