AS part of its effort to position Harp lager as a brand for all season in Nigeria and to consolidate its leadership role in the lager family, Guinness Nig. Plc the manufacturer of the drink has taken Harp Fiesta to Owerri, the capital of Imo State. Owerri Harp fiesta included 10 days of heightened entertainment and fun.
The event took place between May 8 and 17, and was a rewarding experience for all consumers of Harp as it provided them with a unique platform to interact and connect freely with each other.
The train which kicked off at the commercial city of Aba, entertained the company’s numerous customers during the Easter period for 10 days. It later moved to Port Harcourt where history was made as the declining Night clubbing in the city was revived.
Harp, popularly referred to as the ‘Real Beer for Real people’s’, one of the brand on the stable of Guinness Nigeria Plc, brought a new dimension to night clubbing and social lifestyle by introducing the ‘Owerri Harp Real Fiesta’. The Real fiesta which was put together for all categories of people above 18 years of age was held at the basket ball court of the ever bubbling Dan Anyiam stadium located in the heart of Owerri.
According to Mr. Wale Oshungbohun, the divisional Customer Marketing Manager, the ‘Fiesta’ was geared towards providing variety of fun as it gives the brand loyalist the opportunity to unwind and have fun with friends and colleagues after a hard day’s work.
Mr Oshungbohun said: “We decided to put together the Fiesta to enable us say thank you to our most esteemed customers and at the same time reward them. It was a win-win affair for consumers of Harp as the brand offered “buy-two-get-one-free”; in addition they got a raffle ticket that qualifies them for a draw were fantastic prizes such as Plasma TV, HITV decoder, DVD player, 2.5KVA generator, etc were to be won.
It was nights of laughter, dancing and fun as visitors to the fiesta were daily entertained by renowned and upcoming artists like Macossa from Zaire, African China, Bright Chimezie (Okoro Junior), Flavor, etc. In addition a stand-up comedian, MC Ice was on hand to doll out rib cracking jokes that took people off their seats.
Mr Emmanuel Agu, the brand manager Harp in his contribution said that the fiesta is a strong platform for consumer engagement with the brand.
In his words, “Harp is the best selling lager with sparkling colour that makes it distinctive, yet approachable import” Harp Lager beer, is a brand that symbolises and typifies today’s man; fitting perfectly into his lifestyle and status. It represents authenticity, the genuine and real.

The Harp man is a man that recognises and accepts that he has a dual nature. This duality plays out in the form of a passion pastime. His obedience to this craving showed that he is ‘true’ to himself.
