The two new exclusive showrooms commissioned by electronics giant, Sony have continued to elicit comments from Nigerians. The showrooms, which were commissioned last week by Mr. Kiyashi Shikano, senior vice president of Sony Corporation, Japan, were seen as a bold step in bringing state of the art technology to Nigeria.
A banker, Mr. Salami Arogundade said the commissioning of the showrooms ‘’will go a long way in ensuring that we will now have access to the best of Sony technology that is credible, durable and authentic.’’ He stressed that prior to the commissioning of the showrooms he has had difficulties in getting genuine Sony products. ‘What we had in the past were cloned Sony products manufactured in some Asian countries, but right now we can buy the notable brand through Flying Dove, their accredited distributor in Nigeria.’’ Arogundade added.
Another customer, Mrs. Stella Nwokocha who also spoke about the showrooms noted that the Sony brand has always been her preferred brand over the years. ‘With the kind of cutting edge technology I saw on display at the centre we are in for greater surprise both now and in the future.’’ She appealed to Sony not to restrict the showrooms to Lagos alone, but to ensure that other parts of the country benefit from what she described as the ‘Sony touch.’
Two students, Biodun Fadeyi and Lawrence Ngbede said they were particularly thrilled by the latest Play Station on display at the centre which they described as the best. ‘After facing each other in a thrilling match between Nigeria and Argentina, we could not help but marvel at the way Sony always stay steps ahead of competition. Playing that game will make you feel as if you are on the pitch yourself. I commend Sony for this.’’ Ngbede said.
It would be recalled that Flying Dove, the authorised distributor of Sony consumer electronics products in Nigeria inaugurated the two new exclusive Sony Showrooms in Lagos. Strategically located in at the Palms Shopping Mall, the largest shopping mall in Lagos and at Victoria Island, the new Sony Showrooms are easily accessible to consumers who will get a chance to experience the wide array of latest Sony products.
