AS a way of encouraging transport business, BKG Exhibitions Limited, the organizers of the annual Lagos Motor Fair, is making arrangements to accommodate all forms of road transport business in this year’s event.
According to the director of BKG, Mr Ifeanyichukwu Agwu, as it marks its fifth edition this year, operators of road transport businesses, corporate organizations with fleets of buses and auto owners desirous of replenishing their fleets, may be part of this year’s Lagos Motor Fair.
Urging corporate and individual customers in need of quality buses to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the fair this year, he disclosed that there would be a wide range of latest passenger bus models from names in automobile manufacture on showcase at the exhibition. He said they should look nowhere else as the answers to their quest would be available at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos from October 14 to 22. ‘‘At the forthcoming fifth edition of the Lagos motor show, an array of buses, ranging from the mini and 30-seaters to luxurious buses of varying capacities; as well as cars from renowned brands shall be on display by the dealers,’’ he said.
Agwu stated that virtually all the major automobile manufacturers and dealers in these categories of automobiles would be at the fair, hinting there would be a very keen competition among them for the attention of visitors and prospects.
He explained that ‘‘these buses and cars of various makes and capacities have multifunctional uses and qualities that operators of passenger fleets and their likes will have their money’s worth purchasing them. Most of these brands have improved tremendously from what they used to be. This is evident in their designs, specifications, passenger and driver comfort and so on.”
He added that the buses could be used as passenger carriers and family vehicles, while educational institutions can deploy them for school runs; just as other business entities engage them for carrying staff and goods effectively.
Agwu disclosed that apart from these locally-based companies, brands from auto companies in China and Turkey would use the fair as the platform to launch their products into the Nigerian automobile market, adding that one of the targets of organizing the Lagos Motor Fair is to increase foreign participation in order to boost the economy and enhance the mega city status of Lagos state.
Some of the renowned names that are poised to showcase these buses at the fair include: Asian Motors Limited (Foton buses), Olowalogbon Motors (Higer) buses, Toyota Nigeria Limited (Hiace and 30-seater Coaster buses), National Trucks Manufacturers, NTM (Sinotruk buses), Dana Motors ( K-series buses), and Weststar Associates (Mercedes-Benz buses).
Others are MB-ANAMMCO (Mercedes-Benz buses), Hyundai Motors Hyundai H-100 and 30- seater buses), Alliance Autos (Nissan Urvan and Civilian buses), Hyra Motors (Hover buses), Leventis Motors (Volkswagen buses), CFAO Motors Mitsubishi buses), and Nuel Auto Distributors Limited Mazda buses.
