JUSTICE Oluyinka Gbaja-Biamila of the Lagos High Court had in his
judgement delivered on suit No ID/663/2005 ordered the West African
Examinations Council (WAEC) to pay AAFDEV Associates and three order
claimants a cumulative sum of N35 million in the aggregate sum of N8,
750,000 over breach of contract for improperly terminating a project
contract entered by the parties.

RETIRED Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, Chairman of the Independent Corrupt

Lagos State office of the commission to carry out an investigation of

IN a bid to reach an amicable settlement, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo
(Mrs) of Lagos High Court has adjourned for further pre-trial
conference the N500 million suit slammed against Coca-Cola Nigeria Plc
and Nigeria Bottling Company Plc (NBC) by the Lagos State Fishermen
Co-operative Association Limited over the alleged pollution of canal by
discharging dangerous, harmful, untreated effluent and wastewater from
their plant into the Apapa Canal which has affected the aquatic life
therein and consequently affected their fishing trade and occupation
adversely.

THE Federal High Court Abuja has ordered the immediate release of Mr.
Johnson Salako, Mobitel’s Chief Executive Officer by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The court order came following the
EFCC’s unlawful arrest and detention of Mr. Salako on Thursday 25th
June, 2009.

ABISOLA Akinsete, a female and former employee of Westerngeco Seismic
Nigeria Limited, Victoria Island, Lagos has instituted an action before
Justice Opeyemi Oke of Lagos High Court against her former employer,
claiming the sum of N100 million as damages for the alleged disgrace,
abuses, loss of face and integrity, deprivation, mental, physical and
psychological suffering and financial losses she incurred as a result
of wrongful termination of her appointment.

DUROSINMI Oluwa, a shareholder of Sterling Bank Plc has dragged Mr
Yemi Adeola, managing director of the bank, and four others to a
Federal High Court, Lagos alleging massive and illegal manipulation of
his shares with the bank from N20,669,549.95 to N8,768,402.56.
