    The Customs Consultative Committee (CCC), set up by Comptroller-General of Customs Dikko Inde Abdullahi to promote trade facilitation and monitor level of compliance of government policies by both Customs personnel, importers and their agents' penultimate week in Lagos kick-started its proposed series of capacity building for the members.

    Chief Tomi Aloba, the chairman, Ikorodu Chapter of the Association of the Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), has kicked against alleged proposals by shipping companies to demand for delivery orders (DOs) on containers transferred to the Ikorodu Lighter Terminal (ILT), Ikorodu Lagos.

    Minister Charges NPA on Good Conducts

    Senator Idris Umar, minister of transport, has charged members of the newly reconstituted competent Pilotage Boards within the four compulsory pilotage districts of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), to hold inquiries concerning the conduct of pilots in the districts.

    Lt. General Salihu Ibrahim (rtd), one-time Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Shippers' Council (NSC). He is to work with Alhaji Sani Dauda, Alhaji Bala Buhari and Honourable Paul Anikwe who are all board members.

    Hassan Bello, executive secretary and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Shippers' Council (NSC) has said that they are collaborating with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to see that containers are properly latched to trailers, to avoid the unfortunate incidence of containers falling off trucks and destroying human lives and properties.
